I was always unhappy with my weight because of being overweight. But
it reached the highest point when I heard the horrific comment from a
child in the park, "Ma, look! She is so fffffffat!”
Then I decided to loose weight. I had problems in breathing, cholesterol, and hypertension and moving around was getting more and more challenging. Simple things like sitting in a booth at a restaurant, getting in and out of my car, or even walking from the parking garage to my office without sweating were becoming more and more disturbing for me.
I decided to be successful, nothing would prevent it. Then, I started to implement a healthy eating plan; my diet plan was to eat low-carb food. My biggest helper was EXERCISE!!! I started off slow and worked my way up, but it has made an unbelievable difference not only in my weight, but in my mental well-being and overall health.
I lost 40 pounds the first month and 30 pounds the second month of my weight loss experience. Scales were my biggest support: I lost 14 pounds in the first week, another 6 pounds in the second week and averaged about 4-5 pounds per week for the duration of my 200-pound weight loss. It took around one year to reach my current weight. I started out weighing 400 pounds, after a year I weighed 200 pounds. Since then I still have the 5 pounds/week rule.
My life has changed. The quality of life is better than it has ever been and I am the healthiest I have been in my entire life! I am not using any drugs for hypertension and cholesterol. I educate and encourage others who need to do something about their weight.
