Image Cardio fitness is another term of aerobic fitness. Both imply, and rightly so, the method of improving the way that the heart and cardiovascular system react to a fitness workout. Anyone that has the ability to move safely at a fast pass will be able to tell you about the pound in their chest when they do so. The more that your body works physically, the harder your body has to work to achieve the demands of the rest of your body. The better that it can do that the better that your body's health is. By working on your cardio fitness, you can, therefore, improve your overall health and especially that of your heart.

The Importance Of Cardio Fitness

Cardio fitness starts out by testing yourself. If you can not climb a flight of stairs without getting winded, chances are good that you need to work on improving your overall health including the aerobic fitness that you have. For most people, a combination of factors contributes to the downfall of your cardio health. Your diet plays a large part in that if you consume a lot of fatty foods, your heart can be filled with plaque that can over time lead to a heart attack. Your diet is not the only problem though.

If you live a sedentary lifestyle in which you spend most of your time sitting or not moving much, chances are this has contributed to your overall lack of cardio health too. Without pushing your heart and keeping it fit, you have allowed it to slow down. The next time that you use it heavily, such as climbing stairs, you are straining it and this can lead to the heart being unable to meet your demands.

When you increase your cardio fitness, you will see many health benefits. Your body will burn through stored fat and allows you to lose weight. You will be able to gain back some of the health conditions you are suffering from such as high blood pressure, sleep apnea and diabetes. Your body also is able to improve the way that it responds to you. Now, you can run, play, and jump without actually feeling that pounding and feeling winded. Your heart and your cardio system are able to keep up with the style of life that you want and need to live. Those with a fit cardio system are likely to fight off disease longer and to live longer.

How Can You Get Cardio Fitness Into Your Life?

There are actually many ways in which you can gain cardio fitness. This process starts with the ability to increase the physical activity that you do. The more that you do physically the more that you will push your heart. The more that you push, over a period of time in which you build up endurance, the better your heart will be. There are many activities that can help you to do this though.
  • Walking is ideal for those that are highly unfit.
  • Running or jogging is great for those that are slightly healthier.
  • Swimming.
  • Riding a bike, indoor or outdoors.
  • Playing a sport.
All of these activities allow you to increase your heart's beats per minute. Over a period of time, with just 10 minutes per day of a cardio fitness workout, you will be able to see improvements in what you can do and the level at which you can do it. What's more, you will feel great doing it! With the permission of your doctor, develop a cardio workout that can help you to increase the quality of your life.
